Taxes FAQ

We are confirming the details with the Finnish Tax Administration (Verohallinto). This page is general information, not tax advice. For your own situation, check vero.fi.
Do I pay tax on exchanges?
In Finland, services received in a time bank can be taxable income. Occasional neighbourly help between private people is usually not taxed in practice, but the situation changes when the service belongs to your profession or business.
What if I offer something from my profession?
If you are, for example, a professional photographer or accountant and you offer that same service, the value of the service you receive in return may be taxable. In that case, mark “This is part of my profession” on your listing so that the other person knows.
Do credits have a money value?
No. Credits cannot be bought, sold or exchanged for money on Truek.
Does Truek report my exchanges to the tax authority?
Truek does not currently report exchanges automatically. Each member is responsible for their own taxation. You can download your credit history from your account.
